Daphne A. Nowell was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and studied art from kindergarten through University, mostly at the Honolulu Academy of Arts and then later at the University of Hawaii.  Some of her teachers were artists Bill Stamper, Louis Pohl and Joe Feher. Her mother, Esther Nowell, is a well-known Hawaii ceramics artist and at 97 is still teaching classes and producing wonderful ceramic art pieces.

Daphne’s main interest is depicting people and her current medium of choice is pen and ink and watercolor.
